"So as you read this know my friends... I'd love to stay with you all... Smile when you think of me... My body's gone that's all... .... A tout le monde (To all the world)... A tout les amis (To all my friends)... Je vous aime (I love you)... Je dois partir (I have to leave)... These are the last words I'll ever speak... And they'll set me free ........................ And with the release of the 2006 /0 7 NHL schedule, its time to talk of what was and will be. Firstly will the Hurricanes repeat as champions or will they be de-throned by another team. Some say that with all the trades and signings like Lindros to Dallas, Pecca to Toronto, and Shanahan to the Rangers, nothing is certain. Living here in Calgary, one realises what the rivalries truely are. Heres its the Flames/ Oliers and the Stampeders/Eskimos. No matter where you go there is Flames things all over. People have had windows smashed, cars damaged and beatin up because they said the dreded O word. Oilers. I have been to most of the major cities in canada and nothing compares to that 1st day of hockey season. the 1st satruday is always thrilling, at 6pm localtime we all sit down and turn on Hockey Night In Canada. Hockey Night In Canada has been a national institution since 1952, when Foster Hewitt's familiar "Hello, Canada!" ushered hockey fans into the era of television. It was the greeting he had been using on the radio broadcast of the same name since its first coast-to-coast coverage of a 1933 contest between the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs. Top that off with a 2-4 of molson canadian beer and a few friends and you got the birth of a tradition.
